In 2019, they crushed the record for losses by teams in one city — a record including the 1962 Mets — and COVID-19 almost certainly stopped them from breaking it again in 2020. The Red Wings might have been the worst team of the cap era, the Tigers can’t even produce replacement-level hitters, and the Lions … are the Lions.

All three of those franchises have better situations than the Pistons. They’d be better off folding and starting over as an expansion team.
