My response to John’s tweet was “this shouldn’t be a controversial statement. I’m sorry that it is.”

That tweet has more than 3,500 likes. That’s how low white people have set the bar. I showed a little basic human dignity — it really shouldn’t be noteworthy to say “yeah, racists suck” — and it exploded my notifications.
