If you are a fiction writer who wants to blog, my first (and only) suggestion would be to read the blogs of successful writers. John Scalzi’s Whatever is the gold standard, but Mary Robinette Kowal’s blog is fantastic and Jim C. Hines also has a fascinating internet home.

If you want safe, never-offend-anyone blogging, they aren’t the best role models, but they seem to be doing fine.
